Since 1990 Detail Mold & Manufacturing, LLC has been providing closer tolerance molds for the Fiber Optic Industry. We have also been able to fulfill the requirements of many other industries where quality, cost and customer service are important. We look to have long term relationships with all of our customers and have been helping satisfy the needs of many of the same customers since opening the doors.

Daniel H. Berg
General Manager- Managing Member

Dan joined Detail Mold & Manufacturing as our General Manager / Chief Operating Officer in 2018 with 40+ years of industry experience, 39 years spent with 3M . He is a technical leader with broad engineering experience leading programs specializing in process development, scale up, and commercialization. He will be responsible for overseeing all operations of the company while providing strategic guidance for growth. He holds his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Masters Certificate in Scientific Molding.

Todd Tatro
Operations Manager- Managing Member

Todd has been with Detail Mold & Manufacturing since it's inception in 1990. He studied at UT Austin in Mechanical Engineering. He ran the Wire EDM machines and functioned as a top tool maker before purchasing the company from the founder in 2005. Todd is currently the lead engineer and estimator.

Trey Chapman
Business Manager- Managing Member

Trey has been with Detail Mold & Manufacturing since May of 2015. Trey facilitates the financial and manufacturing directions of the company as well as assisting in operational activities. He programs for our CMM and runs the laser engraver and also troubleshoots software and network issues. He is currently working with our staff on quality control certification and the implementation of ISO 9001.

Ray lensing
Ray Lensing
Logistics Manager

Ray has been with Detail Mold & Manufacturing since 2011 when he moved from Minnesota. Ray is our plant manager and oversees scheduling and production. He ensures the shop runs smoothly and efficiently while purchasing materials and monitoring job progress and deadlines. Ray also operates as one of our high precision laser welders.

Shani Bigelow
Controller

Shani has been with Detail Mold & Manufacturing since February of 2017. She comes to us with over 10 years of experience in this industry. She has experience in ISO documentation review and maintaining the regulations. Shani handles our Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Purchasing and is currently assisting in the ISO implementation.

Mariah Joseph
Accountant

Mariah has been with Detail Mold & Manufacturing since November of 2015. She graduated in 2013 with a Bachelors degree in Accounting from the University of Texas A&M-Central Texas. She then obtained her Masters degree in Business Management from West Texas A&M University in 2016. She handles our Human Resources, Payroll, Quarterly Filings, and supports the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable department. Mariah is available Mondays from 8AM-4PM

A LOOK BACK

Detail Mold began in 1990 in the family garage in Round Rock when Todd’s father, the late Gary Tatro, decided to open his own shop. Todd was his father’s first employee in the fall of 1990. Just three years later Detail Mold & Design Moved into a 4,000 sq. ft. building in Round Rock. Todd bought the company from his father in 2005 and in 2013 moved Detail Mold into their new 12,000 sq. ft. building where they reside today. Todd partnered up with Harold Chapman, his longtime car buddy, in 2015 and the shop invested in a vast amount of new state-of-the-art equipment. The business has grown and succeeded in a niche market to become one of the top tool and die shops in the southwest region of the country and is currently moving into the production world with lights-out operation and automation.

Citing the company’s progress over the years, Tatro stated, “One of the key factors for our success has been our ability to solve challenging design requirements. But at the end of the day, I think honesty and dedication to customer satisfaction have driven our success and growth. We have maintained a reputation for quality work and some of our original customers are still doing business with us.”
