Injection Molding Process Development
Simulation-driven process development for injection molding.
Detail Mold & Manufacturing’s injection molding process development takes a tool from initial parameter development through press-side validation, producing a documented process window ready for production or formal qualification. The mold development process is structured to resolve variables before they become production problems.
The output of our injection molding process development program is a verified process window. Simulation narrows the variables before the press runs. DOE studies and CpK validation confirm the window physically. What leaves the development phase is a documented process ready to go directly into sustained production or IQ/OQ/PQ qualification for regulated programs.

Detail Mold & Manufacturing’s position is to engage as early as possible, ideally during the mold design phase when simulation can inform steel decisions before any material is committed. Starting injection molding process development after the tool is built means some variables are already locked in. Starting during the build means the mold and the process are designed together.
Yes. Detail Mold & Manufacturing runs mold development process work on existing tooling from any source. If the tool has prior process documentation, that provides a useful starting point. If it does not, the development sequence starts from simulation and runs through press validation the same way it would for a new build.
Process development produces the validated process window. IQ, OQ, and PQ are the formal qualification protocols that certify that process for regulated production. The OQ high and low points established during development become the bounds of the OQ protocol. For programs heading into medical device or other regulated production, process development is the precursor to formal qualification.
