Precision Injection Molding

Process-controlled production, ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Injection Molding Held to a Mold-Builder Standard

Detail Mold & Manufacturing designs and builds injection molds and runs production from them in the same Georgetown, Texas facility. Our injection molding operation includes an on-site ISO Class 8 cleanroom for regulated programs. From short-run validation builds to established ongoing production, we operate every press with the same process discipline applied to the molds we build.

  • A Single Partner From Mold Design Through Production

Most injection molding companies either build tooling or run production. We do both. The same engineering team responsible for building the tool is the team managing how it performs in production.

  • Process Monitoring Across Every Press and Every Run

We run RJG CoPilot process monitoring across the press lineup. Every production run generates a documented data trail tracking cavity pressure and process parameters from first shot to final part.

Injection Molding Manufacturers for Precision Programs

Detail Mold & Manufacturing’s injection molding program covers the full range of production needs, from cleanroom and regulated-industry manufacturing to high-precision component runs and validated process development. Each of the services below addresses a distinct requirement within precision injection molding programs, whatever industry your production serves.

Cleanroom Injection Molding

ISO Class 8 controlled environment for medical device components, with cleanroom assembly available on-site.

Scientific Injection Molding

RJG-trained process engineers establishing validated, documented parameters for consistent part production.

Process Development

Simulation-based starting conditions and press-verified OQ high and low points developed before production begins.

Process Monitoring

RJG eDart CoPilot tracking cavity pressure and process parameters across every press on every run.

IQ, OQ, & PQ

Full qualification documentation from equipment installation through production validation, structured for regulated programs.

Onboarding Molds Built Elsewhere

Detail Mold & Manufacturing accepts production runs for tools built by other shops, bringing outside tooling through the same process rigor as molds we design ourselves.

  1. Tool Design Review: We review the incoming mold’s design and condition, confirming it’s ready to run at the process parameters your program requires.
  2. Process Parameter Validation: Parameters get established specifically for that tool, rather than carried over from a prior facility’s settings.
  3. Qualification Build: A qualification build runs before ongoing production begins, supported by our process development and mold sampling and validation capabilities.

Thermoplastic Materials We Run

Material selection depends on the application and part requirements, and specialized material needs get built into the process development phase before production begins.

  • ABS

A common structural thermoplastic suited to general production programs where cost efficiency and impact resistance matter.

  • Polycarbonate

High-strength, temperature-resistant material used for components requiring clarity or added durability.

  • Ultem

A high-performance engineering resin suited to regulated and high-temperature applications where standard thermoplastics fall short.

  • Nylon

A durable, wear-resistant material suited to components requiring flexibility alongside structural strength.

Scientific Injection Molding as Standard Practice

For plastic injection molding companies, the difference between shops that run production and shops that engineer it shows up in the data. Detail Mold & Manufacturing’s engineers are RJG-trained, and our presses run CoPilot process monitoring on every run, establishing and maintaining validated process parameters from first shot to final part. We build that level of documentation into every program.

FAQs

Lead time depends on part complexity, material, and whether tooling is already qualified or needs a first-run validation build. Programs using existing, qualified tooling move faster than a new mold onboarding process. Contact our team with your project details for an accurate estimate.

Yes. Detail Mold & Manufacturing runs both short-run validation builds and established, ongoing production programs on the same press lineup, without requiring a separate vendor for each volume tier.

When Detail Mold & Manufacturing handles both the mold build and the production run, the same engineering team works across both phases. The tool is designed with the intended production environment in mind, which makes for more direct process development and validation. Customers sourcing injection molding companies for production-only support can also work with us, bringing existing tooling without a new mold build.
